Midnight Call – Re _Edition
Label: Lucie Cries Records– LC - 01
Format: CDr thermo-printed
Country:US
Released: Re - Edition 2012
Style:Goth Rock, Shoegazer, Ethereal
The band started around 1991, when three of us got together informally to make some noise. Jeff Udell (keyboards) was the only person trained on his instrument. Jeff Johnson (guitar) and myself (guitar, programming, vocals) had literally just started playing guitars. So the real excitement came when we could just mess around and, yet, people in the area started to show interest. It was flattering.
Of course, there was no real scene for our style of music in Boston. (Moat of the US for that matter) . So we just kept to ourselves for a while. While the first single received decent airplay on College stations. Most of our feedback came from Russia, Sweden Germany, etc.
Which is just fine by us. Most Americans don't listen to music because it is interesting, but because they have heard of it on the radio. Anyway, a year and a half ago Jeff Johnson left to pursue other things. So my brother, Lance, stepped in on guitar. Then we released the second record (shortly after the CD compilation). He did a great job keeping with the style and has really helped to develop the sound even more. (Which will he evident on future recordings.) We have recorded about 10 songs.
